The digital SMATV has now completed its technical system tests at Millennium Residence and we are pleased to announce that the soft launch of the system starting from 15 May for a month till 14 June.

The purpose of the soft launch is to allow us to detect any problems and fine tune the system before it will go full service.

We use all 4 of the existing satellite dishes to tune in to the signal sources from free-to-air FTA satellites in this region.  Most of these FTA are news channels. Altogether there are over 95 TV channels with 16 HD channels and 14 audio from VoA and BBC, by leveraging the new AIS optical fiber infrastructure compared to the old SMATV of 26 channels. These signals will be distributed in high quality DVB-Terrestrial format compatible with the current digital Thai system as the old analog VHF/UHF will be phased out in a few years as announced by the Thai authority.

Please note the availability of these free channels are subject to change without notice and BMO has no control over them.

For residents wanting to connect to the new digital SMATV, please follow the instructions below:

(1) The TV in your unit should be DVB-T/T2 compatible or a set top DVB-T/T2 is required.

(2) There is no disruptive cabling work requirement in the unit because the digital TV signals will be connected at the shaft room to the existing coaxial cable into the unit.

(3) However, the digital SMATV services will not be available to residents who subscribe to TrueVision which uses the current coaxial cable.  The simple reason is to avoid causing interference to it.

เรื่อง    การทดลองการส่งสัญญาณโทรทัศน์ระบบใหม่

เรียน    เจ้าของร่วม และผู้พักอาศัยทุกท่าน

ฝ่ายบริหารอาคารฯ ขอเรียนให้ท่านทราบว่าเราได้ดำเนินการทดสอบทางด้านเทคนิคในการส่งสัญญาณโทรทัศน์ระบบใหม่เรียบร้อยแล้ว และจะดำเนินการทดลองส่งสัญญาณโทรทัศน์ระบบใหม่นี้ในวันที่ 15 พฤษภาคม – 14 มิถุนายน 2560 ระยะเวลาประมาณ 1 เดือน วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อตรวจสอบการส่งสัญญาณว่าดำเนินไปได้โดยสมบูรณ์หรือไม่ ก่อนประกาศให้บริการอย่างเป็นทางการต่อไป

เราใช้จานรับสัญญาณดาวเทียมของเดิมจำนวน 4 ใบ ในการรับสัญญาณโทรทัศน์ที่ให้บริการฟรีไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายในการรับชมจากดาวเทียมในภาคพื้นเอเชีย ช่องรายการที่ให้บริการฟรีส่วนใหญ่เป็นรายการข่าว จำนวนช่องรายการโทรทัศน์จากระบบใหม่นี้รวมกันแล้วมีมากกว่า 95 ช่อง (เมื่อเทียบกับช่องรายการเดิมจำนวน 26 ช่อง) ประกอบไปด้วยช่อง HD จำนวน 16 ช่อง และช่องรายการที่ถ่ายทอดเสียงจาก VoA และ BBC จำนวน 14 ช่อง ส่งสัญญาณผ่านโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของสายใยแก้วนำแสงของ AIS รูปแบบการส่งสัญญาณเป็นแบบ DVB-Terrestrial และเป็นแบบระบบดิจิตอลทีวีของประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบการส่งสัญญาณที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงกว่าระบบการส่งสัญญาณแบบเดิมที่เป็นแบบอนาล็อก VHF/UHF ซึ่งอีกประมาณ 3 ปีข้างหน้าตามประกาศของ กสทช. ประเทศไทยจะยุติการออกอากาศโทรทัศน์ภาพพื้นดินแบบอนาล็อกและปรับเปลี่ยนมาเป็นระบบโทรทัศน์ภาคพื้นดินสู่ระบบดิจิตอล

นอกจากฝ่ายบริหารอาคารฯ ขอเรียนให้ท่านทราบว่า ช่องรายการที่ให้บริการฟรีเหล่านี้ อาจมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงโดยไม่สามารถแจ้งให้ท่านทราบล่วงหน้าได้ เนื่องจากการส่งสัญญาณของช่องรายการต่างๆ ไม่ได้อยู่ภายใต้การควบคุมของเรา

สำหรับผู้พักอาศัยที่ประสงค์จะรับชมรายการโทรทัศน์จากระบบใหม่ ขอให้ท่านอ่านข้อแนะนำด้านล่างนี้

• (1) โทรทัศน์ของท่านต้องมี Digital Tuner แบบ DVB-T2 ในตัว หรือมีกล่องรับสัญญาณ Digital TV

หรือ (Set Top box) ที่สามารถรับสัญญาณ DVB-T2 ได้

• (2) ไม่ต้องติดตั้งสายนำส่งสัญญาณเข้าไปในห้องชุด เนื่องจากการเชื่อมต่อสัญญาณจะใช้สายเดิมที่มีอยู่

แล้วในห้องชาร์ปเชื่อมต่อเข้าระบบใหม่

• (3) ท่านที่เป็นสมาชิก TrueVision จะไม่สามารถรับชมโทรทัศน์ระบบใหม่ได้เนื่องจากสายนำส่งสัญญาณที่มีอยู่ได้ถูกใช้ไปแล้ว และที่สำคัญเพื่อป้องกันปัญหาเรื่องสัญญาณรบกวน
